Calculus - AI SL

Calculus helps understand the rate of change between two variables and the relationship between them. Calculus helps in understanding models and make predictions about them in a real-life world. It is a foundation for advanced courses in physics, engineering and mathematics.

 

In the IB, students are introduced to the basics of calculus. This includes concepts like rate of change, derivatives, integration, optimization and so on. Real world applications are looked into. At the AI SL level, the introduction is relatively basic. However, the concepts still require the use of higher order skills and application. With the IB being rigorous, the foundation will enable them to grasp the concepts even when the pace picks up significantly. The entire course on Math Me Up consists of short video tutorials and practice quizzes that help learners navigate through the content in a bite-size and orderly manner.

 

The course will help students learn the concepts required for the IBDP, practice them efficiently and develop confidence in them. With many learners having different learning abilities, this course will serve as a revision guide as it supports differentiated learning, while preparing them in depth for the upcoming examination.
